Family Nights at Medieval Times – Things to do in Myrtle Beach
At Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center, we know a thing or two about castles, princesses and general gallantry. After all, inside our walls, Princess Hannah of Savannah is lost inside Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors and awaiting your rescue. But we’re not the only fantastical experience in Myrtle Beach. Let us tell you a bit about a fun family thing to do in Myrtle Beach – Medieval Times!
If you’ve ever thought it would have been cool to experience knights performing for the praise of a queen, jousting on horseback to prove they are brave warriors, you’re in for a treat during your next visit to Myrtle Beach.
At Medieval Times, your entire family will enjoy witnessing a battle of champions. Sitting in the round, you’ll watch as knights go head-to-head, their jousting lances drawn and shields held for protection. You’ll be seated in the cheering section for your favorite and encouraged to yell and cheer to ignite your knight’s performance!
Guests will also be awed by a show of expert weaponry skills when the knights of Medieval Times forego riding their valiant stallions and instead pair off on foot. See their skillful use of the Mandoble as they swing the heavy, two-handed sword, delivering powerful blows. And watch as your knight masterfully handles the Alabarda, a cross between a battle-axe and spear feared by warriors far and wide!
The queen’s guests will also be mesmerized by The Royal Falconer, who delights onlookers with a close-up look at his majestic birds of prey. In addition to watching the regal falcon perform, you’re welcome to visit the castle’s mews to learn more.
While you will certainly walk away from the show satisfactorily entertained, you’ll also leave with a full belly. All attendees at Medieval Times will feast on roasted chicken, corn on the cob, tomato bisque, herbed potatoes, garlic bread and dessert fit for a queen.
Now you know what’s for dinner, so come hungry! Build up your appetite during the day by escaping from zombies at Outbreak – Dread the Undead and dancing with musical superstars at Hollywood Wax Museum! We’re looking forward to giving you the royal treatment during your visit to Myrtle Beach!
