Ober Gatlinburg – Things To Do In Pigeon Forge

Summer. Winter. Spring. Fall. Every season is full of fun at Ober Gatlinburg, which is why we recommend it as a great thing to do in Pigeon Forge! Yes, we know, it’s in Gatlinburg, but this much entertainment is worth the short drive. Here’s some of what you’ll experience!

Winter – The ski resort makes snow overnight to be enjoyed along with the awesome white stuff that comes from the sky! Skiing and snowboarding are usually available from mid-December through early to mid-March. But that’s not the only snow fun at Ober Gatlinburg. Tubing is a blast for all ages and Ober offers a 400-foot snow-covered lane to slide down.

Spring – While the temperature is just perfect, check out the Ober Gatlinburg Wildlife Encounter. The hibernation months have ended and the animals are ready to romp and play. You’ll see black bears, river otters, bobcats, raccoons, snakes, birds of prey and more! Plus, test your endurance and rock-climbing skills on the 30-foot rock wall.

Summer – Check out Ober Gatlinburg’s two thrill rides, the Alpine Slide and the Mountain Coaster. You’ll control the speed while you race through the Smoky Mountain trees. Ride solo or double up with a friend. Then, head inside, slip on some skates and hit the ice rink. It’s a great way to cool off during a hot summer day! This year, guests will also be in for a special treat – live music every Saturday evening.

Fall – The fall is the perfect time to take a ride on the Aerial Tramway at Ober Gatlinburg. You’ll get spectacular views of the leaves that are changing color! Then, get ready for German cuisine and drinks, Bavarian folk dancers and an oompah band, along with plenty of other fun at OktOBERfest, celebrated for a full month in the Fall.

Sounds good, right? And there’s so much more – the arcade, carousel, chair swing, mini golf and ice bumper cars! It’s a lot of adventure for a great time on the mountain.
