Hotel Normandie – Hollywood, CA

Hotel Normandie

It’s an L.A. icon and an architectural treasure. It has modern amenities with a Roaring 20’s flair. It’s an awesome burger joint and a fancy-schmancy cocktail den. Whatever your pleasure, your senses will be pleased when you visit the recently revitalized Hotel Normandie.

The place is located in Koreatown, on the corner of Normandie and 6th, less than 5 miles from Hollywood Wax Museum. Its original neon sign signals you’ve found the right place and clues you into the historic significance of this nearly 100-year-old structure.

Check out the architectural details of its Renaissance Revival exterior before making your way into the spacious lobby, restored in 2010 by Pasadena architect and preservationist Jingbo Lou of J Lou Architects. Take in the exposed wood beams, skylights, and wood doors that are original to the building. Then, if all that gazing at architectural beauty has made you hungry, you’re in luck.

Cassell’s Hamburgers, established 1948, offers burgers with amazingly juicy house-ground patties, divine potato salad and other delicious choices. Or, if you’re a foodie and looking for something a little more sophisticated, plan ahead and book your reservation at the intimate Le Comptoir, Chef Gary Menes’ food-forward, 10-seat counter dining experience.

After your meal, the Normandie Club welcomes you with one-of-a-kind beverages in a sleek, stylish lounge. So cool is the décor, you may imagine yourself playing a part in a 1930’s-era noir detective thriller while sipping your exotic cocktail.

Enjoy Hotel Normandie, and don’t forget to come by Hollywood Wax Museum during your stay in L.A. We’ll introduce you to Hollywood’s greatest stars!
